This page is dedicated to watching the mares on Mare Stare, starting with the mini donkeys at Half Ass Acres. But be warned....it is highly addictive.

I don't mind at all Michelle. We have 5 foaling stalls in the main barn. We also have a larger barn we use for hay storage. We can accomodate 4 stalls that are 11x11 and we have - last year we had mares backing up and we had to set up cams out there. Even put a cam in the kennel...sigh - didn't work so well. LOL We have some mares that hate being in - and you will see them throw temper tantrums the first night - rearing, throwing their head, etc. We watch them and they settle. We have mares that prefer to be in and you have to drag them out of the stall....they are all so individual in personality.
We have all minis here, but I own an Arabian mare as well. She lives in Colorado right now with a friend.
Thank you for your compliments on the stalls. They will get messy in the night, but I won't go down and disturb the mares unless I have to. So don't be surprised if they get pretty poo filled in the wee hours of the morning. Some of the girls are terribly messy, and others, Like Tess and Chantilly, keep a very neat stall.
I'm not sure if that answered your question, but feel free to let me know if I didn't LOL
Hi Heather, If you don't mind me asking, how many minis do you have in your barn (how many can it house)? are they all minis or do you have horses to?
You all do a wonderful job maintaining the stalls and keeping those 4 legged angels happy....pat yourselves on the shoulder for all that hard work. I only have 2 horses in my barn and that is enough for me.
They have the full paddock now :)
with the 4 cameras all on, and watching chores being done, it struck me that it looks like an equine maternity ward :)
and baby is sooooooo cute.
