British indoor jumping record of 2.32 meters (7 feet, 7 inches) set in 1978 by Nick Skelton on Everest Lastic. Look at the layout of that jump! :-o

I have nothing against jumping, but making these horses go higher and higher is getting beyond ridiculous. And im afraid I don't buy the whole 'impact is the same as smaller jumps' I very much doubt that, the full weight of the horse and the height of that jump...ridiculous. I am not impressed by this sort of horse display.

So if I were to jump off a 10 story building it would be the same impact if I were to jump off a 2 story building? Right...

FYI......the impact forces are not much different that lower jumps.......

Reining is harder on the horse than jumping

Anyway I think it is grand.......great job.

I don't think any horse's body should be put under the pressure of jumping such a high jump. I can only imagine what it is doing to its joints, ligaments and tendons. I can't believe someone would do this to their own horse just for the fame of a world record.
