World Cup Finals News Flash: Third Time's the Charm for Steve Guerdat
After twice being the runner-up, Swiss rider Steve Guerdat today was able to step on the top rung of the podium and hoist the cup himself. In the first round, Guerdat had a good result with 5th place, giving his score, translated into points, with a good shot at the top. He really moved forward in the second round, finishing on top, earning maximum points which translated into zero penalties going into Final III. His clear effort in the first round today, gave him a small margin for error which he used, having two rails down, but he got to the finish line without any time faults, and this time, it was his day.

He has only been riding Albfuehren's Paille, an 11 year old Selle Francais mare, for less than a year, but his partnership with the mare is certainly strong as demonstrated by their fantastic result.
Rich Fellers and Flexible
Rich Fellers with the 19 year old Irish Sport Horse, Flexible, and Bertram Allen riding the wonderful 11 year old Molly Malone V, who were both at the top of the leader board, each faulted in the first round - Fellers with two rails, and Allen with one.

Penelope Leprevost with the 10 year old stallion Vagabond de la Pomme, was standing in fourth coming in to today's final, and as Fellers and Allen went down in the standing, Leprevost moved up into the runner-up position. Allen held on to the 3rd spot and Fellers had a solid result in 7th. Beezie Madden and Simon also moved up, finishing 4th overall.
