Harrisburg, PA -- Victoria Colvin, 17, and Ovation stand poised to make history again at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. Last year they won the Small Junior Hunter - Riders 16-17 Division title for the fourth consecutive year. With the Opening Day's highest score, 92, the pair won the Small Junior Hunter - Riders 16-17, and are on their way to a possible fifth win of the division title, which concludes on Friday.

 

Colvin, of Wellington, FL, and Ovation, owned by Dr. Betsee Parker have dominated the division since their pairing many years ago and now both are going out on a winning streak. Colvin is in her last year showing in the junior ranks and Ovation is retiring.

The Small Junior Hunter - Riders 15 and Under class saw young Emma Kurtz, 14, from Hudson, OH, in first place with Kahlua, owned by Isabel Aldridge, with 87 points and second place with Wisdom, owned by River's Edge, on a score of 85 points.   The Small Junior Hunter - Riders 15 and Under - Handy was won by Irasir, owned by Teton Farms LLC, and Grace Prochilo, Wilson, WY, with a score of 85. Morgan Ward, Milford, NJ, and her horse Broadway took the blue ribbon in the Small Junior Hunter 16-17 - Handy class with a winning score of 86 points. 

 

The Large Junior Hunter - Riders 15 and Under was won by Mckayla Langmeier, East Granby, CT, and Cuba. Cuba, owned by Missy Clark and North Run, scored an 88 for the win.   Daisy Farish, Lexington, KY, aboard Cassanto, owned by Emily Perez, won the Large Junior Hunter - Riders 15 and Under - Handy class with a point total of 87. 

 

The Large Junior Hunter - Riders 16-17 again belonged to Victoria Colvin aboard another of Dr. Betsee Parker's horses, Small Affair. They took the blue with a score of 87. The Large Junior Hunter - Riders 16-17 - Handy class was won by Bailey Smith, who crossed the country from Portland, OR, with Papyrus, on a total of 87 points.

 

Recognized as a premier equestrian event, The Pennsylvania National Horse Show runs October 8-17 and has been held indoors at the State Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, PA since its inception in 1945.
