Thousand Oaks, California - As we reflect on a successful 2016 Rio Paralympics, the USPEA would like to thank everyone that helped on the road to Rio. Firstly, we must thank the organizing committee, the judges chaired by President Hanneke Gerritsen, and volunteers who worked so hard to make these games great. The International Equestrian Federation Officials, organized by Amanda Bond, spent the last year and half going back and forth to Rio helping prepare for the Games and working to ensure our Games were safe and clean. On a national level we had our United States Equestrian Federation staff working with the team on the ground in Rio, Will Connell our Chef de Mission, and our Discipline Director Laureen Johnson. A special thank you goes out to Tina Wentz, who served as a PCA to our athletes.
We wouldn't have a team without all of the trainers, riders, coaches, grooms, and sponsors. The USPEA would like to thank all of our riders, our Chef de' Equipe Kai Handt, and all of our riders' support teams. We would also like to thank our supporters at home who follow our press releases, share our articles, and do what they can to support our riders and encourage the growth of the USPEA. We look forward to an even stronger showing in Tokyo 2020.
Sincerely,
Hope Hand
President of the USPEA
