Seriously .. this horse "sits" behind. ( correct collection) . if you can only find ONE frame with an error .. give the guy credit for a terrific ride. Also watch his hands.. so quite ,. not picking up the horse's head watch .45 .47 sec.he gives in his elbows --allowing more from the horse !! This IS what they want to have us all try to achieve.. - also spurs are manditory at this level.. it is the riders who abuse spurs not the wearing of them -- He also does NOT abuse the spurs either. Watch his legs.. they barely touch below his mid calf.. only when he needs the most gentle addition of power does he use them . His signals are coming from weight, core control and gentle subtle hands and legs..

Too bad this horse is a leg mover. Check out a frozen frame at the 1:24 mark in the video. The front leg is well advanced of the rear leg, disrupting the natural correlation between the angles in the diagonal pair of legs at the trot. His hind legs, therefore, are camped out behind him and his back is dropped. I don't care how flashy and brilliant people say this ride is or how much the judges love it, it's not good for the horse! Anyone with any knowledge of biomechanics will know this poor horse is doomed to retirement, with great physical pain, at a very early age. Shame on these judges of today. This is not how the FEI rules are written!
