Profile Information

About Me:
Our equestrian centre, located in Portland, Ontario, has two specialties. We provide customized lessons, coaching and training in Classical Dressage, for riders and horses at all levels. We offer safe and supportive programs for children that promote riding education as well as riding skills. We welcome children as young as five years old, and tailor our programs to meet the ability and interests of each individual.

Dressage is an age-old riding tradition that is in harmony with the horse’s natural ability and willingness. The equestrian core of Happy Horse Stables is classical dressage, and is centered on Susanne Vogt’s considerable knowledge and experience in riding, teaching and training. Susanne comes to us from Switzerland where she competed and trained in classical dressage at the highest levels. In Canada she has built up an equestrian facility focusing on teaching and training in a calm and positive environment. Facilities at Happy Horse Stables include well-trained and responsive school horses and ponies, indoor riding arena with heated viewing room, sand ring, grass ring, round pen, extensive trails, large pastures and a well-equipped barn.
Please browse our website to get more details about the children's programs, dressage lessons or custom dressage coaching and training that we offer. We have limited spaces set up exclusively for boarders and horses in training, and we can accommodate riders and horses from afar for coaching and/or training. For more information, give us a call at 613-272-2597. Set up a trial lesson. Or come and visit, and we'll show you around!

Princess is lame again in the shoulder and I just can't keep her sound. Am using massage, reiki, acupressure and will try chiro. If I had more money I would buy a bomb proof trail horse to ride. Princess needs to be a broodmare and she does throw awesome foals.

I am doing fine. Planning on retiring soon. Am riding Princess a little. She is really feeling good and I am strating back her schooling as she was always a broodmare. Casey is fine and full of hell.

Hope to get down your way this summer sometime. Will be sure to stop by. I really think you are on the right track with your first aid courses etc. Most people have no clue what to do. Say hi to the kids for me.
