Please be aware that Equine Canada is going to try and force everyone to use a unique identification system for their horse (microchip most likely) to facilitate their acceptance at Canadian horse slaughter facilities.  This improved identification methodology is required by the EU slaughter regulations promulgated in July 2010.

Please support the NDPs private member bill C322 to STOP horse slaughter.  Call you MP!

This goes with the post below. I wanted to show a picture of me in my studio with some of the paintings that are offered for sale for Save A Face.

Hi, I am a horse artist and advocate. I just started a new project that I am excited about. It is combines my interests- horses-art-rescue. You can see the web site here but basically what I am doing with Save A Face is putting a face to the horses (and eventually other animals and children) that are lost thru slaughter (or in the children's case special medical needs) in order to draw attention to the cause and help support the rescues.

I will be putting art up on online auctions regularly using E-bays Giving Works Program with 50% of the proceeds going to the designated rescue. You can see here whats up now: http://shop.ebay.com/artbysuesteiner2010/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&...

I am looking forward to getting to know you here. thanks!

I love working with Home At Last Horse Sanctuary! My 8 yr old grand daughter Gracie loves it, too.

Hello Everyone,

I feel so sick when I think of the emotional trauma these horses face, they have an incredible herd heirarchy and life together. It must be how the people in the Nazi concentration camps felt when their families were torn apart and no one knew what happened to their relatives until after the war. It is sick what humanity is doing, and we need to put a stop to it. The next book I write which is about horses I've owned, I will donate a portion of the sales to the Cloud Foundation, so that they may remain free forever and not have to face depression, slaughter and other abuse. For the love of the horse, Ann.

Liliane, How wonderful! For you to have 4 mustangs and for them to have a home. How old were they when you got them?
Please do put some pics of them on here!
What has been happening to the wild horses the last couple of years is so depressing and sad and wrong. I think it's great that some are going into homes but the for the rest that are being gathered I am just sick for them. They loose the spirit in their eyes when they are kept penned up and their families are divided. Even for those that have been released their lives and families are so damaged. I didn't realize until recently how their families are made up and who teaches who and all that inter related stuff. Very cool really! Enjoy your young-ins and please do put some pictures up and announce it in this group so I know to look.
