Do you have any pets?: 5 horses, 1 dog, a cat, chickens

I am a 16 year old girl who is insanely obsessed with horses. I love training, and I hope to start training horses for people in the near future. My main focus is dressage, but I also like to jump once in awhile :) I own 5 horses named Diamond, Dezzi, Maya, Joe and Zeke. Here's a little information about them!

Diamond: 8 year old, chestnut Arab/Shetland Pony. She is 13.1 and was born on my farm. I trained her myself and showed her one summer. Sadly, I am already too big on her.

Dezzi: About 10 years old, Paint/Canadian. We bought her 3 years ago. She is approx. 14. hands. I have re-trained her to be a pleasure/trail horse.

Maya: 2 year old, Arab/TB, bay filly. She was quite skinny and was going for meat at an auction. She is currently 13.2. We rescued her on May 8th,2010. Maya is steadly improving! :)

Zeke: 3 year old Appendix (QH/TB) gelding. My current show horse :) I trained him myself. He is approx. 15.1 hands. He was also bought on May 8th, 2010.

Joe: Approx. 1 yr old, paint/percheron colt. Was bought for my next training project, to start this summer :)
I also enjoy photography, soccer, basketball and volleyball!

Keep in mind that I am now working a THIRD job (teaching, horse-sitting and working part-time at the campground in Johnstown)!! I'm not around much on saturdays and I start at Ellen's from thursday to sunday. Thor is running at Keenland this weekend then he'll come back home to Woodbine for the summer. Did I tell you he won his last race in Florida? In his last six races he's been either first or second, with 5 different jockeys at 4 different race tracks!! He's pretty amazing for a seven year old!! Talk to you soon.

I would be willing to let you use the arena anytime you want - maybe in return for cleaning a few stalls? (I usually charge $25/hr rental). You'll have to stop by and see the cute pony that Cat leased for Fiona from Paul. She's a paint (about 13.3hh, but looks bigger) with a wall eye! She's a real sweetheart!
Let me know if you want to use the arena.

Kathleen rode Hilite yesterday. It was very cute, except Hilite spent most of her time trying to roll in the arena!

At 6:27am on January 2, 2011, Joanne Onyons said…: I will text you when I figure out what my schedule is for the week. I still have to book a few lessons, not sure what days they will be. I think I still have some parts off the old, old harness - so if you are missing anything I may be able to find the pieces for you. The problem I found when we bought the used leather harness was that it was very hard to adjust because the buckles had been in one place for so long. You may want to start oiling/saddle soaping before you try to fit it...might make it a bit easier.
If we get some good weather for a hack I'll text you and see if you want to meet up with us on one of your horses. (Or you can ride one of mine)

Let me know if you would like to come over for a ride this week...I think Rachel and I are going to try and hack thursday afternoon, or if you want a lesson - Scooter needs to start doing some jumping again after being off when she was sick. She was quite the handful when I used her in a lesson last friday! Definitely back to her old self!

Hilite got ridden for the first time in probably a year (give or take a few months!) today....she was such a good pony! Didn't take her very long to get tired though, she's so fat and out of shape! Will probably put Kathleen on her this week....maybe try and get her going again.
