My Young Rider Years ~ Final Preparations for the NAJYRC!

Chance and I have less than one week left to prepare for the 2011 FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships! I can’t wait to represent Region 5 on the Young Rider Dressage team! I have dreamed of being a Young Rider ever since I was twelve years old, so four years later it is great to finally be stepping up to the “big leagues” after competing in the Junior division for the past three years. It is especially great since I thought I was going to miss this year’s… Continue

We were filmed a few weeks ago for the “Story Tellers” segment on the AZ Central website. You can find the finished product here:…

2010 Del Mar National

2010 Del Mar National

We had quite the exciting week at the 2010 Del Mar National April 27th through May 2cnd. The week before the show my trainer Teri and I decided that we should try to get her horse Wynsum in the show so I could take him in the Junior classes. He's for sale and she wants to market him as a Junior/Young Rider horse so she's having me campaign him and try to…

We're Officially Qualified for the 2010 NAJYRC!!!

Chance and I had a very succesful weekend April 3-4th at the ADA Spring Celebration! I feel like we're learning so much together and I'm so excited for our future! Chance and I are both learning how to handle his new and improved fitness level, but we made it through the weekend with good scores inspite of a few bobbles. I felt like we had our best quality work ever in the Junior Team Test on Saturday and…

Fantastic Show in Thermal Jan 15-17!

We're finally home! After a long four day weekend my mom, Chance, and I all made it back safely. We had a fabulous weekend! Chance was so well behaved and he acted like a total pro. Unfortunately Teri couldn't make it over to California but another Arizona horse trainer, Kim Yacabucci, was able to help warm me up on Friday and Saturday. Here's all the details!

November Christine Traurig Clinic

On November 5th and 6th I had the opportunity to ride in a clinic taught by Christine Traurig. I had ridden under Christine before and had really enjoyed her lessons, so I was excited to be able to participate in the clinic. The last time I had seen Christine was early in the beginning of 2009, so I was anxious to see what she thought of my horse Verdicci and I. In July of this year we were able to represent Region 5 in the North American Junior Young Rider Championships in Kentucky, where we… Continue

First NAJYRC Qualifier for 2010!

This past weekend I went to the ADA Fall Fiesta with my horse Chance and my trainer Teri Patton-Rich's horse Wynsum. She's selling him so she thought it would be good for me to show him so she could market him as a Junior horse. I'm trying to qualify for both the 2010 North American Junior Young Rider Championships and National Championships. Both Chance and Wynsum did really well in the FEI… Continue

We Got 9th at the NAJYRC!

It's been such a hectic summer, I finally have a breather. Chance was so good in Kentucky, and considering he's only seven, he handled everything fabulously. We ended up 9th out of 36 in the Individual test and 13th in the freestyle. It was a blast and I already can't wait untill next year. I think we'll do Juniors again so we have a year to train the PSG. Thankis everyone for being so supportive!

We're Officially Qualified for the NAJYRC!

April 4-5: Chance and I completed our third NAJYRC qualifer and came out with a 65% average! He was very well behaved and had two very steady tests. We also performed our freestyle for the first time and earned a 67%. This was Chance's first freestyle ever and he wasn't quite sure what to do but he listened to me and performed a clean test. I am very proud of my boy! This show leaves us with a 63.9% average for the team. In three weeks we are going to the Del Mar National Horse Show and if…
