The Horse's Mouth TV's 7th episode features Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Famer, Keith Clark racing his mighty Standardbred horses at Fraser Downs Racetrack in Cloverdale, British Columbia.
With roots stretching back to the days of roman chariot racing, the Standardbred tends to be more muscled and longer bodied than its cousin the Thoroughbred, which suits the more strategic, speed altering sport of harness racing.
There are currently 34 racetracks in Canada with only 4 in BC and Alberta. Keith is among the many trainers and sports lovers keeping their eyes on the United Horseman of Alberta's plan to complete the Balzac Racetrack just north of Calgary, Ab. The much anticipated facility will be a dream come true for horse lovers, a boost for the local economy and introduce many people to the exciting sport of horse racing.
