It was 80 degrees in Aiken, SC. today. Gave my horse a much needed bath - and then she rolled!

thank you...we are very proud of him...and have recently added a black colt to breed to his daughters when they're ready.
  • Martha

Thanks! I take my breeding program very seriously. Considering I didn't grow up with horses and don't ride, my passion had to supersede over what I lacked in experience.
  • Susan Stupi

Thanks, This ride takes place the 28 of March and benefits the southern Delaware therapuetic riding program. It takes place at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes Delaware. It is a yearly event.

Hey! Thanks! I am working on being a professional photographer for horse events and I just LOVE to take creative pictures! Thanks for the comment!
  • Megan

Walers are the horses used for war purposes in WWI and WWII. There was only one waler geling bought back from the war and the rest were left behind. Luckily there were plenty of horses that were bred for remounts that never went and we are lucky to have this breed around still. WHOBBA and WHOWAA are some good websites to visit for more info!!!
  • Geoffrey Pannell

Hi Guys, What's the deal with this Karia Hurst girl? What can we do about the spamming? I don't know if it's appropriate for this site. Cheers Geoffrey P.S. You probably already have it sorted as you seem to be on the ball with this type of thing.
  • Dorothy Martell

Thanks for the comments, my horse is a great guy and very easy to be with. Hope to get to this site more often.

  • Laurie

thanks for the info, but I have 2 comments and could not read either...both spammers ? or am I missing something. On dial up here so I get a little frusterated with the spead(or lack of) and then don't seem to be able to access anything.

Canada does not have a "Sport for the Environment" organization - - but Japan and Austrailia do - - it is an initiative of the UN - - the concept is to gather people through the values of sports/sportsmanship and doing your best -and align these efforts with recognizing that we need healthy clean envirionments in which to play - and live - to actually be healthy. We can chase ribbons and medals all the while doing something positive for society and the environment. It is really a win win situation. I am thinking about how I might get something like this going. Thanks for enquiring. Karen

  • REED HILL FARM - TN, USA

Thank you!!!!!! If you think he is neet, you have got to look around our website at the prolific color he is throwing! So -so cool! www.geocities.com/rhftn02
  • June Evers

Isn't he the sweetest? His name is Beasley and he is a PMU. He's a 16 hand TB/QH/Percheron cross that I've trained myself. We trail ride and do some very minor dressage. If he was human, we both would be too lazy to get off the couch to do much of anything else!

I adopted him at 18 months in 2000 and he came from a now defunct farm on the Canadian border of North Dakota. I've taken a horse that was used to 24/7 turn-out with no run in sheds on the Canadian border and have turned him into the biggest wimp. Funny stories about Beasley on my web site: www.horsehollowpress.com and click on the misadventures of Beasley. Read the one called Vince and the Technicolor Weenie... I think that's the title.

Thanks and I look forward to poking around this site and to having you on our radio show in July! Your program idea sounds terrific and interesting!!!
  • Alice Kremers

Thank you! I love this picture of him - so typical: "What's going on back there and can I show you my good side?" HA!
  • Lauren Cala

Hey, do you have horses? If you do tell me all about them as in their names and how many you have, because you don't put it on your page.
  • Laurie

I live southwest of Calgary Alberta, this is my Shire/Thoroughbred cross Mare that I use for eventing and show jumping. We also do a lot of trail riding in the south end of Kananaskis Country west of Longview Alberta. For many years I lived at the ranger station there and it is one of my favourite riding places to get away from the show ring!

My poetry is mainly about the cowgirl's point of view, such as the ranch wife. Some of them are about history and how the rough life affected the woman and their men. Some funny some serious. I will try to send you a couple that you can put on the site later. Thanks
  • Deborah Johnson

We do! Where do you practise? What style? I frequently find that karate and riding are not only compatible but mutually beneficial. You too?
  • Timika F

    Hey Barn Mice,

Welcome to the group Jumping Rox!! Sorry about my late welcome. Sorry.
    Timika
  • Lauren Cala

Well, I did know you had a horse I mean seriously! Oh , and I want a horse so bad. I don't have one but Id'e LOVE to. I really want a saddlebred, and I have rode a horse before and I loved it! I'm thinking of going through training and then doing something. I'll probably get hurdles and jump them, but I don't think I'll do hunter with it.
  • Renee

    Thanks for the welcome.
  • Pam Carroll

Gaited Mountain horses are rare breeds originating in Kentucky. There are a few types but the ones most well known are the Kentucky, Rocky, and Spotted Mountain Horses. The are able to move at different gears than a pleasure horse; giving their gait the term Glide Ride. The horses are used extensively on long trail rides over various terrain, due to their constition and sure-footedness.

Oh, no I'm not - the OADG is (http://www.ottawadressage.ca/). But I did recently see him win in Las Vegas and his horse was just brilliant. I have pictures! http://picasaweb.google.com/deb.whitten/20090416#
  • onlyme

Thanks very much :D that was taken at our first novice :D
  • onlyme

novice in british/irish eventing anyways :P
  • Dorothy Binguis

My house cat, Shadow (a Tonkeness) is a queen and doesn't like other cats. if our barn barns come up to the house to let me know they want their hard food, she will literally slap them around....and they take it! they don't ever fight back. weird.

If you have any questions about Endurance I would be happy to answer them.
Do you plan on attending the World Equestrian Games being held in Kentucky? This is the first time the Games are being held in North America. Endurance will be a part of this Event.
  • Ruth Prevey/Sturley

Yes, I hope to be on the Canadian Team. The selection has not been made yet. There will be a pre-ride this fall.

Yes, we can do a blog. We always blog (the team) and send info back about our experiences. When we were over in malaysia we took turns bloging so this would be a good site to set up our blog. I will pass it on to the Team once it is selected. Ruth
