I got my first horse 40 years ago today (7-4-1970, I was 19) after having trail ridden in Chile and Uruguay for four years while in grade school.
I am now disabled with Multiple sclerosis. I still ride due to the kindness of others (human and equine}.
I now ride Forward Seat on the flat, since I am too disabled to jump.
I adore Arabian horses!
Thanks Jackie, spent the weekend putting my fence up. Just got back from Rural King with a new electric fence box. Now just waiting to find my new donkeys. If you know of anyone around Northern Ky to Southern In who has some they would sell, send them my way.!!!
Thanks, Jackie! I'm planning on checking out every little nook and cranny of the "barn"! Hope you're ready to help an old lady get back into riding. ;)
Thank you so much Jackie! I tried to post The Ride Home Kickstarter Campaign video... Not sure if it worked yet, but regardless I appreciate you inviting me into 'Barn Mice' and hope to blog about it later today. :)
You just sound such a stunning person so nice to meet you over the net. I just sent a message to the , I presume "main office" of this site requesting the do's and don't s of this site as I don't wanna start on the wrong foot but I would like to basically tell people about our product. So I am waiting in anticipation on this end!!!!
Hi Jackie....thank you for the welcome.Looks like a nice place here and am off to finish my profile page etc. Check back and have a look.Take care...Connie
Howdy, Jackie. for us the horses come first in mounted archery, they are our partners and their care and comfort are paramount, especially when we share horses at events and competitions. Those horses in the video are loved and cared for and understand their job. It isn't always so at competitions, but we work at setting an example of compassion and quality care, and of course the proof is in the results. Partnership makes such a difference. Great people, great horses, great fun.
Thanks Jackie! Slowly we are getting up to the 100 ride mark! That might take me another month to do but that's alright. A young woman who was in my lesson class at the other barn is going to put some rides on Cooper, I posted a picture of her riding him. This is giving her the horsey time she can't afford right now and it's helping me out too with him as she knows the training I am doing.
Thanks so much Jackie! I really appreciate the kind words! Your blogs and posts keep me going too, I love reading them!! It seemed to take forever to get to 100. I don't know if I am going to stop counting yet, maybe only write on every 10 rides the number. But I will still keep track of them in the horse journal I keep.
Jackie, I think my Arab mare lets her spookie-ness get in the way of learning at times but she is more graceful and athletic. Ruby the mule learns new things very quickly and rarely finds anything to spook at. She's very steady on the trail and is ready to go most anywhere.
Thank you for your welcome!! I haven't finished ready your blog yet, but I think you're a brave lady and I'm really happy to read you still can do horse riding. <3
I really hope you won't need to replace your old wheelchair for a very long time!!! And off cores keep on horse riding. Horses are very special creaters (how do you write this word?)
My horse is not a easy one but with my son he is so lovely. My son had a prognoses that he has ADD but more and more we think they made a mistake and that he mind have Asperger. He toke my horse to a jumping competion 3 weeks a go. The horse was afraid for the jury but didn't throw him off. I really love horses for the love and respect they give and the feeling they have for special people!
About training peacocks, I've never tried. They are friendly and one will eat out of your hand. Like dogs/cats, I think if you keep feeding them they'll stay around.

Thanks hope i can learn alot here!
