Lived in Rhodesia, South Africa and Zimbabwe until moving to Ontario, Canada in 2004. Some jumping, cross-country and gymkhana as a youngster, Polo-Crosse and Polo as an adult.
I have posted a video of Sue and I trying out 2 of our horses for a bit of Polo-Crosse practice, we were not wearing helmets because we were working slowly.
Just to re-assure every one, when we played competitively or practised seriously, we wore helmets and our horses wore pads and bandages or protective boots.
Unlike Polo, the Polo-Crosse ball is made of soft rubber foam and cannot cause serious injury to horse or player.
Polo-Crosse was a very popular equine sport in Zimbabwe, and is well supported in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and more recently a number of other countries.
Zimbabwe won the first World Series in the late 90's despite a tiny horse riding / owning population.
Hello Peter,
I just took a wee nosey through your photos.
All Very Nice … thanks for sharing!! … but I have to say …
… *laughing* …
I was particularly drawn to the one of all the cats on the stoop.
.... silly, I know ;-)

Hi Peter: You might as well join the over60's group as it sounds as if you are close to that! So far I am the only member. If you and your wife join there would be three of us. Where did you end up moving to in Ontario? I am near Uxbridge ie north of Whitby. I have a Rocky who is trained for a few things but mostly we ride the trails. Love the pictures. One of these days I will learn how to post the ones I have. Gail Morse.
