A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Presently I live in Patagonia, and returned to riding. After many years of working in the city for multinational companies I got the opportunity to change and I started organizing riding holidays 7 years ago. My life changed and I am happy with what we have managed. Riding in Patagonia is fabulous!

Welcome to Barnmice Yvonne! I lived in Santiago and Montevideo as a kid (50 some years ago). So glad to see someone from Southern South America here.
I never got to Bariloche, but my parents vacationed there a few times. Heard it was beautiful.
I'm afraid all I've seen of Argentina was Buenos Aires a few times, my parents would take us over on the ferry from Montevideo. One time there was a horse on the ferry, stalled on the deck. I was excited, but not allowed to meet the horse.

I used to get to go trail riding in the foothills of the Andes on the Chiliean side. Those foothills were STEEP, it never occured to me that anything in the Andes system would be smaller or less steep!
That is where I started riding. It sort of ruined me for trail riding the rest of my life, I had already done the real thing and up here on the east coast of the US trail riding is sort of boring, quite pleasant often but nothing like Chile.
Wish I could ride with you, but I have MS, and nowadays I can only ride for 30 minutes, three times a week, and traveling is totally exhausting. I have to rest a day between riding and often I have to rest several days after a trip.
    Are you using Criollos?

Summer season is well on the way. We have enjoyed good rides, delicious ”asados”, lots of laughter and fun had by all!

As in most of our riding programs the first day we start at Raul´s farm, in Lolog, which for us is very special, views of the lake and the indigenous forest manage to enchant us every time we visit. Our next stop has been to visit the estancia where Tommy, our host, waits for us with delicious home smoked venison, gin tonics and superb dinners.
We also spend time in the saddle! Lots of time! Horses are the reason we visit Patagonia, spending time with them and riding to enjoy the beautiful sights.

One of the riding programs this summer took us over to Chile. We drove across the border at Tromen in our trucks, the day was superb and the scenery amazing. Arriving close to a town called Pucon, where our Chilean host, Rodolfo, was waiting for us with ¨piscos¨ (special Chilean drink) and his horses! We spent two and half superb days riding on his Chilean rodeo criollos horses, climbing steep mountain trails and training in the arena. It was a great experience!

If you need help planning your next holiday please visit us on www.corbettrides.com.ar and we can arrange a journey on a horse so you can enjoy sights from snow-capped volcanoes, beautiful forests and steppe landscapes to good company, delicious meals and hospitality, come and ride with us in Patagonia!
