Thanks for the welcome! This photo was the cover of the Canadian Trakehner magazine, and one of my favourites as well. You have some nice photos of Adena Springs - their Ontario farm isn't far from me.

Hi Jay, I just got around to accepting your friend request... summer's are crazy!! Thank you for the comment about my photo. He was such a photogenic horse undersaddle -- now he's a photogenic retiree! I'm searching for the time to develop the NC Horse Network thing further. It started out as such a small venture grew before I realized it!

Thanks for the welcome to Barnmice. KY is great during horse show season but is a pretty small city for anything besides horse activities.

I like your website, I wonder how you can create a product like that. I would like to do that. I have a degree in equine science but I guess you get a scientist to do that. The city you live in must be nice, it has a nice name.

Hi Jay, many thanks for the invite. I enjoyed your photos - beautiful farm on a beautiful day, with a beautiful smiling little girl. Idyllic. I also looked through your products and it's nice to see that there is so much available in the world of quality supplements for horses these days. Things sure have changed for the better since I started riding. The NitrOxide product you have is particularly fascinating (though they all look very interesting and beneficial). I read the case study you provided, and wow! - I'm going to look into trying the human version for my arthritis. How wonderful that so much progress has been made in the world of nutrition for horses in the past few decades to benefit these magnificent creatures. A far cry from just "hay and sweetfeed"! Keep on keepin' on. ~ judy

  • Laura Gladney

Thanks for the welcome! What do you do?
  • Julie Anita Maria Robinson

Hi Jay what an amazing place you have, is it yours or do you just keep your horses there? I am a dressage fanatic, but no longer have any horses and the show circuit is non-existant here so I will have to get my fix through sights like this. What's your horsey life like over there much going on?
  • Marsha Houlahan

Hi Jay...nice to hear from you. You can check out more about European horse trailers from our website. Fall is busy in Ontario as we prep for Winter. We don't get much time for Social Networking, but will check in periodically. You can reach us via our website for quicker feedback.
    Cheers!

Hi Jay, I am new to this and have no idea what and how to work it. It really looks like a nice site. Love to chat with horse people. I have not found the chat room yet. Have a great day.
  • Stacie Waldo

    Hi Jay,
Thanks for taking me as a friend. Do not know anything about barnmice, my girlfriend sent me a silly picture last night and it looks like a good place for horse info.
To tell you a bit about myself, I'm married with two autistic boys (9 & 10) and I have been horse crazy my entire life. I have a quarter horse that used to be my school horse (which he hated being, totally a one horse person). My husband is not into horses at all and my kids have taken lessons through (TREC, Therapeautic Riding equestrian Center). Guess I've run out of room. Talk to you soon Stacie
  • jay hughes

    Stacie,

Delighted to know you. Barnmice is a great place with lot's of opportunities to learn and share experience. My daughter rides and the young woman that trains her has a therapeutic equine program. I have read how significant horses can be in active work with autistic children.I know I have seen the smiles on faces of severely disabled teenagers when I've helped out. There is a dynamic there that is divine. Blessings to you and your family especially in this Holiday season.

    Hello Jay!
Thank you for adding me as a friend! I saw your pictures, and as you well know your daughter is beautiful! I hear South Carolina is gorgeous. I haven't been since I was a little girl, so I don't remember much about it. Maybe some day I'll be able to take my Thoroughbred up there to ride. I just recently purchased her, and she's my first I'm very proud to say. And for a Thoroughbred she is sound through and through. Very smart and willing. Well, back to the grind for me, drop me a comment some time. I'd love to hear from you!

  • Barbara Ball

Hello Jay! Good to be your friend... WOW what an awesome farm!
  • Barbara F.

Jay, I'm so sorry to hear your news. What a difficult time for you and your family. :(
  • Julie Leonow

Hello Jay - thanks for the invitation. I wasn't too sure I should accept because I generally know all my "Friends" however, it seems you are quite the horseman so I took the chance. It is sad to hear about any loss of a beloved animal so my heart goes out to you and your family. I am a green rider (2.5 years) and I have a green horse (4 years) - Yep - the ultimate challenge! I took my first lesson at age 49! I'm now totally hooked and thanks to a wonderful friend and trainer have an incredible relationship with a horse that can be quite the character. I love new info regarding anything equine - so looking forward to participating in this group.

Hi Jay, thanks for adding me to your group as I needed a distraction, I lost a mare on Fri night and am feeding her two month old foal. I was taking it pretty well until last night when I felt fairly emotional. This mare was with me 17yrs and was a really gentle character, I have to say I was fairly p...d off with my vets as they said they had never seen anything like it and yet weren't interested in having a look even though the local kennels said they'd hang the carcass for them. 10 days ago she started to retain fluid and condition just fell off her, heart, kidneys, and liver seemed ok on the bloods so my best guess is a mass that had been growing for a while just blocked something. Sorry to use this to get it off my chest and thank you for the distraction.
  • Laura Devitt

Hi Jay, on reading my 'whinge' back I've realised it sounds a bit insulting to have thanked you for 'the distraction'. I really didn't mean it like that. The foal is doing well. Your pictures are beautiful and your daughter really cute, Laura.
  • Laura Devitt

Hi Jay, I'm glad you like Ireland, it's a 'great wee country' (apart from the rain!).I've been to the states a few times and I have to say one of the best holidays I've ever had was a week on a dude ranch in Montana 'chasing cows'.I've lived and worked in Kildare for a few years but I'd say your friend wasn't even born then! If my husband or I can do anything for you next time you visit just let me know. Laura.
