I loved your discussion of tent pegging. It's amazing how many things people can do with their horses (and a sword, sabre and lance). And so much tradition! You might want to consider creating a new group on this site for others interested in this discipline.
Congratulations on those amazing tent-pegging results! And thanks for posting the information here - this isn't a discipline we hear nearly enough about!
Hey, what kind of horses do you ride? I can't tell from your pictures, but they look beautiful. They look very fit and happy- and fast for that matter!

Hi Akaash, Thanks for your friend request! What great photos! I hope to someday be as good of a rider as you, There will be a lot I won't be able to do of course with my disability, but hope to do some trails and maybe some games and western pleasure with my little guy.
Thank's for the great photos , I had forgotten all about tent pegging , used to watch it when I was a child, the photos brought back many happy memories. We (Cananda) is I think lucky to have you as an ambassador!!
I think that it is great that you are putting the meetings etc. up on the Royal,,you are puttting on a "face" for us who are in the west and cannot be in Ontario for the Royal, agin thank's I will be watching with intrest more so because of your efforts!
Wow..you are quite accomplished! You have chosen a wonderful cause (underpriveledged kids). I lived in the U.K as a child (London) and like Josephine reminisced...I also watched Gynkhana Games, jousting and mounted combat at Cyon ? park...and the queen's changing of the guard. Tjose games and polo, of course ..MADE riders :-)) Amanda
Good morning Akaash, thanks for the invite. Have never heard of tent pegging before, but sounds intriguing. Great photos! Will have to look into the sport, being interested in everything equine...Cheryl
Thank you for yor invite as a friend I'm not very good at adding you to my list cause I don't know how. This technology is still confusing I'm still figuring out my vcr.Your info is very intriguing. My son is in the Princess Patricia he is infantry I do not want him in Afganistan he might be going in September. I agree NATO is not doing their part. we need to get out but the poor innocent children suffer. Kat
We're getting there! LOL
Every year we get a little bit better. The best part about being at the Royal was meeting so many people who have used our services successfully. It makes all the long hours burning my eyes in front of the computer screen worth while to hear about the great jobs (and the great employees) found using our site.
:)
I've always wanted to try tent pegging along with mounted archery. Unfortunately, the closest I've come was a not so pretty attempt at jousting with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). Yes, I am a nerd.
It warmed up here (interior of BC) to 0 degrees today - positively balmy! We had some windchill, but riding was a breeze (excuse the pun!) compared to earlier in the week, when it was -18 before we factored in the windchill. Given that my arena's open on three sides the windchill can be significant, but I put two electric infrared patio heaters in my tacking up stall, and they make a HUGE difference.
I suppose that given the heat at work for you right now the cold at the farm is a relief?? Keep the faith, Akaash, you're doing good work, and lots of us out there recognize it and are thankful for it.
Thank you for the friendship request Akaash. I'm looking up tent pegging right now! Please see my blogs on equitation and the rider moving with the horse. I'm a Feldenkrais practitioner and teach awareness and movement.
Congratulations on your Team winning the Tent Peggin Olympics. Wow, what a fast and furious sport that looks like. You need to come visit and show us how. It would be too much fun.
That looks like a lot of fun. The pictures from india were great; I always enjoy seeing different horse cultures from around the world. Was tent pegging created to help develop the skills of pig hunters. I think I recall reading somewhere that pigs were hunted from horseback in India.
Love to hear of any news or events in Ontario, I think this might be fun to do with my retired polo pony.
Thank you for the email re: rollkur! I know that everyone shares a different opinion on this topic, but I consider it a victory for the horse and appreciate getting the news!
Hi Akaash. Thanks for the friend request. I am visual artist as well as a horse enthusiast. If there is anything I can do for EC as an artist let me know. I often donate paintings/prints.
Also ... I would really like to do a photo session for a series of Mounted Police paintings ~ any ideas who to contact? Like I was thinking Metro Toronto MP.
And last but not least ~ great efforts on the ropic of Rollkur.
Good for her that she chose the wiser course of action. Sometimes it's hard to make that quick decision in the heat of the moment.
Not sure where you're posting your photos, but feel free to post a few right here if you like. They'll run on our home page where everyone will love looking at them. :)
