Event Description

Come and celebrate the first annual Toronto Horse Day on June 6, 2009. Toronto Horse Day runs in conjunction with Horse Week in Canada held annually to promote and celebrate Canada’s thriving horse industry.

In celebration, the Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF), the Riding Academy at the Horse Palace, Exhibition Grounds, Greenhawk Harness & Equestrian Supplies and the Toronto Police Services Mounted Unit are hosting a free family horse camp from 11:00am to 4:00pm. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn the basics of horsemanship through a fun and interactive program which includes stable tours of the Mounted Unit.

Participants will get to see horses in action! From Noon - 1 o'clock pm different styles of riding including English, Western, Therapeutic Riding and the Mounted Unit will be featured. CP24 Breakfast co-host, Melissa Grelo, will be on hand to explain the different styles and answer all horsey questions.

Breyer Animal Creations®, makers of the world’s finest model horses, is bringing the stars of Series 3 of The Saddle Club™, Lauren Dixon and Connor Jessup to Toronto Horse Day to celebrate the release of the new album - “Best Friends” from 1:00-2:00pm and will be greeting fans, signing autographs and merchandise.

The Ontario Equestrian Federation is committed to the highest standards of horse welfare, advocacy, pursuits and accessibility.
