Well, its been about a year now since first signing up for Barnmice.
Here is an update for those interested in learning of our progress here in the beautiful Caribbean.
First of all we have had 6 new births this year. It is so amazing to see and experience such life and curiosity amongst the little ones. They run, jump, switch directions, chase each other and then sleep of course. I have never had so many foals at one time. Truly a gift to coexist with them on a daily basis.
Another new update is that I did find a trainer to visit and she did. I had my confidence built back up and was refreshed, with a guiding and very wise, experienced horsewoman. I am so grateful and am now doing all the training myself, again!
Also, I had my husband build a new tack room for the farm. This is a huge step for me as I was keeping my equipment in his workshop for the past year. To think this land was literally a jungle when we first moved here....
There have been many volunteers staying here and helping out with all sorts of fun and rewarding tasks. They come from all over the world and have had a great impact on assisting us getting the farm up and running.
Since the demand has been high we are now in the beginning stages of building 3 more additional cottages to host more guests and make sure there is plenty of room.
So, with that said if anyone is interested in visiting us, learning horsemanship and enjoying the serene, warm Caribbean with our horses, just let me know. I do have some time slots available before the year ends and am offering a discounted volunteer package.
This includes housing (private cottage) with all meals prepared and WIFI. Riding lessons, trail rides, one on one natural horsemanship training sessions and pick up/ drop off from the airport is also included. Discounted price is $90USD per week. Passport is required. Visa is simple at point of entry ($10USD) and good for 3 months.
