A third elite British showjumping horsewill not be available for Team GB at the London Olympic Games.
Guy Williams’s Titus has been sold for Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander to ride.
Guy told H&H he’s “obviously disappointed” but that “he has to run a business”.
Guy has had the 12-year-old gelding for just over a year and the pair competed at the European Championships in Madrid in September.
British showjumping team manager Rob Hoekstra added: “It’s disappointing but understandable to lose horses in this way. Guy has enjoyed a run of excellent form recently with a number of horses. Do not write Guy, the master of the Masters, off from Greenwich yet.”
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Bruce Menzies' Sultan V was to be competed under the Saudi Arabian banner in 2012, and last week it was revealed that Robert Smith's Talan had been sold to Saudi Arabia.
