Some guy tried to get his horse to swim across the lake and the horse drowned. What an idiot!

He was trying to teach him  to swim across Black Canyon Lake in eastern Arizona.

The owner of the horse, Robert Baum, reportedly told deputies that he was an experienced rider and had taught many horsed to swim.

He said the horse that drowned had already made two successful crossings of the lake.

Baum said that this time, the horse acted hesitant. Rather than forcing him to cross the lake, he turned the him around and headed back to shore, but  the horse slipped under the water and drowned.

Baum believes that the reins may have broken and led to the drowning. when divers recovered the horse it still had on it's riding equipment and apparently there was damage to the reins.

The owner will not be charged for the incident.

Poor horse!
How culd the reins brake?
Maybe the horse refused for a reason, and if it knew how to swim, why did it drown?
