Do you speak Japanese and English? I am attempting to do follow up research to write about and hopefully help the horses that survived the March 2011 disaster in Japan.  Despite the devastation, limited government assistance was provided for people only, not animals.  So there are small groups of individuals who struggle still to save the surviving horses.  I am hoping to help raise awareness of their ongoing problems and somehow raise money to help them care for these animals (build fences etc). Although I have Midori, an enthusiastic penpal there who is involved in the daily care of these animals, our language barrier cripples efforts to get them help from the outside world.  Is there someone who knows how to read/write Japanese and english and would be able to act as translator for us on an ongoing basis?  We have to find some way to get help to these horses and their committed rescuers. For a bit of history, check my article in The Rider, Mar/Apr 2012 issue. Please contact me with any ideas. Thank you, Kelly  kelly@therider.com
