I'm considering supplementing my horses' hay rations with the Alfa-Timothy LONGfibe Forage Cubes.... has anyone got any comments or opinions on the use of these cubes?
I haven't used that brand of hay cubes before but I have had good luck with feeding timothy hay cubes in the past. I used only timothy hay cubes because the horse wasn't in work, or I would of considered an alfalfa-timothy mix.
I used the hay cubes for an older horse, mixed them in with his morning beet pulp in the winter (with hot water - warm mash by the time it got to him). He'd eat it right up and was in good weight through-out the winter.
I am boarding my horse..they use round bales that are not of good quality..so I supplement with the tim-alfa cubes to give him the hay he needs..he loves it and I put alot of water and he get the hydration he needs also..
