I've been lucky this year to meet a number of inventors through my new Canadian horse podcast Straight From the Horse's Mouth Radio Show. My podcast has conversations with some of the most creative and interesting people in the horse world.

I must say right now that I love the energy and creativity of inventors. Inventors take and problem and find a solution. Sounds simple, but it isn't. The work behind the scenes is enormous. The money and time output turns those of us with good ideas, off.

Louise Ford is a sixty-year-old avid huntswoman. She was having difficulty mounting her 17 h horse when riding out. She knew she had to find something safe and easy. Louise worked with Millwright and created the Step Up Stirrup. This is a stirrup that pulls down, allows you to mount, and then you can fold it back up and ride on.

As more and more Boomers want to continue to ride, I predict that there will be great inventions that will help the horse person stay safe and comfortable while interacting with horses. My next post will be about one our female Canadian inventors.
