I love my New Forest Pony. He is about 14hh or a smidgen more. He moves straight. He is only a 38 inch girth and though he moves nice, I am wondering if he will open up at all? I am in the USA and I think he has more dutch in him than the ones in England. Anyone else have a narrow pony?

Hello Patrice, this is a little late in replying, have not been on barnmice page for some time. Being narrow is not unusual for a New Forest Pony. We have some rounder and some narrow in our herd of 21 in Ontario. What is the breeding of your pony?

HI!
He is from Virginia Cardenas.  The sire was Cheval de Bois Mousse. His breeder was Priscilla Hawkyard. She was the president of the NFPS here in the states.

He is american born.  His mom was a NFP named Iris.

Do you have pictures of your herd?
SO nice of you to write to me@

Lynda, I think we know someone. Douglas is a rider at the barn I am at. He loves to ride a horse named Cesar. The barn is Oncourse riding academy.
