has anyone had the problem of static electricity on your exercise rug while you ride?  it took us a while to figure out what all the "fuss" was about, but I finally decided that the horses were getting little shocks from the exercise rugs and the dryer sheets did not help.....

Your comment helped me realize what effect this was having on my guy. I knew there was a little static, but hardly noticeable. He was gradually getting more testy with sheets (which were a  new to him in the last year or so). Not sure how to totally reduce the static, but it helps to be aware, and try to discharge it during the process, much like you have to with electronic equipment. Those guys wear bracelets I think too, and touch the chassis before touching the electronics etc. I wonder if using a bit of hair conditioner rinse would help as with our hair?
