hey! has anyone heard about the wild horse mare who saved reporter's life in an inferno last year Septermber? if anyone has, please tell me. I'm just curious. and if you want photos, just ask me cuz she lived on our farm for 6 years before she had to be put down two weeks after the fire. i would appreciate it so much cuz she meant so much to me. her name was Diamant (Diamond), and I named her filly Fire Tempest because she was born just 7 hours before the fire reached our farm. i have hundreds of photos, from her before the fire, her previous foals, her in the fire, with the reporter, while we saved her out of the dam, while the vet was working on her, while we treated her fo two weeks and then the last photos before we had to put her down.

Can you add more of the story - and some photos here for us to see? It sounds like an incredible story!
Hi! of course, and thanks for replying! the photos are on the other Compy, but i'll post them tonight!

Diamant was a wild horse, and at 8 my dad told me that she had foaled and he drov me over to see her. the filly was so pretty. but after two hours, i saw a massive smoke cloud while i was woking with my horses, and i ran to tell my dad. he said it was nothing to worry about, but i know hew as just acting calm for us cuz he broke out in a nervous sweat.
Well, my mom and dad packed in photos, stuff like that, my brother rounded up the dogs, and i went to feed the horses and put halters on them with my number on them. there wasn't ebough time to trailer them out. when the fire came over the mountain, i went to get them n the pasture and they ran after me as i went through the gate.

the next day when we went back to the farm, all i was looking for was my horses. back then it was only Medlar and Chance, not Kiaat was well. i found out that Diamant had saved her whole wild herd, the reporter (Mark Sansfield) AND my 2 babies (medlar and chance) from dying out there. she found a gap no other horse could.

the day after i realised that Diamat was looking down and lying down too much. my mom and dad said i was being paranoid (i'm the only person in my family who likes horses. i owe them so much for letting me have mine). but i found her baby walking with her brother and the rest of the herd and she wasn't with them. i called Reinette and she came immediately. we found her after a while, and then the vet came. he put her on 3 drips and gave her alot of meds. he pulled out the placenta that didn't come out because of the stress from the fire. he gave her 5% to make it through the night.

the next morning, she was stuck in our dam and a fire broke out behind her. it took about 10 of us to get her out, while we were looking for her missif foal, and whiel there was a helicopter dropping water on and behind her to put out the fire.

we were able to heal the infectio inside her, but then we realised that she had laminitus, also because of the stress of the fire.
but a week after, her peedle bone rotated and she had to be put down. she was so amazing.
her foal is doing just fine. she was hand-raised, just like medlar, and like medlar, she is also a wild horse orphan
