AMEREQUINE STAFF PREPARES FOR EVENT AT A GALLOP!

Fort Worth, TX – The staff of AmerEquine has left the gate open for the holiday season; they’ve been coming and going at a gallop. Early in December our Program Director and two of her staff revisited the Will Rogers Memorial Center (site of AmerEquine’s 2012 event) to review the on-going improvements that the center is making. The news was fantastic: Construction is ahead of schedule, and the facility will have even more parking, load-in, and stall accommodations than ever.  Happily the three had scheduled their visit to take place during the National Cutting Horse Association’s annual event and got to watch the remarkable athleticism of the horses and riders at work (and play). One of the highlights was the “celebrity” cutting charitable event. More than a few “celebrities” were serious Cutters, and the others were put on very, very capable horses. Lyle Lovett, who can really cut, sang an incredibly moving “Star Spangled Banner,” which differed from many “celebrity versions” in that it stuck to the tune.

Since our staff can’t be everywhere at once, AmerEquine’s Executive Producer, Terri Sharp, herself quite well-known in the horse industry, spent her early December at the National Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas, NV. Terri enjoyed many visits with exhibitors, some old friends and made some new ones, many of which intend to have a presence at AmerEquine. Since it is a given that the time one spends around horses is not deducted from your life span, we would like to report that a good time was had by all and that we hope you and yours will take time to be with your equine friends—or even to make an new such friend during the up-coming holidays.

This is the season when we count our blessings, and AmerEquine is blessed to have truly wonderful and well-respected sponsors supporting our event. We would like to thank them all and to use our press releases to focus on a separate one each time.

The Hellman Family Foundation was our first sponsor. Mr. Warren Hellman is himself an avid horseman and participant in the sport of Ride ‘n’ Tie as well as an accomplished musician who will be performing with one of the bands that will appear at AmerEquine, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and the Wronglers. The Hellman Family Foundation is also the producer of the highly popular music festival that is held annually at Golden Gate State Park in San Francisco, CA; Hardly, Strictly Bluegrass; which attracts about 700,000 enthusiasts each year. Mr. Hellman’s expertise in the two areas that AmerEquine spans, horses and music, has been a great help in getting the company off the ground.
