The donkey who endured the ill-conceived parasailing publicity stunt in July, 2010, in a Russian resort town has died.  

According to the Moscow News, Anapka passed away following an illness in December due to heart failure.

Video of the stunt, showing the donkey strapped to a parasail, towed by a boat, and braying in terror caused worldwide outrage.  

The British tabloid, The Sun, purchased Anapka and moved her to stables in Moscow where she received veterinary care.  

Police investigated the case, but the men who were responsible for the stunt were not charged since  no overt injuries were found on the animal.
