ERIN, ON - Nick Dello Joio and Contiki captured the $33,500 Premeire Equipment Open Welcome last night at Angelstone!

Thirty seven horse rider combinations tackled the first round course and of the thirty seven, nine returned for the race against the clock. Dello Joio blazed the track in a time if 31.67 which looked to be uncatchable until the last combination of the evening took to the course. Mac Cone and Vanity B gave it everything they had, but came up just short in a time of 32.07 to claim second place. Third went to Angela Covert and Utan.

This is Dello Joio's first trip to Angelstone and likely won't be his last. Nick said after the win "I was thrilled with my horses performance. He's inexperienced at this level and stepped up and proved he is up for the task. Angelstone is a fantastic facility, each of my horses have learned a lot here and progressed with each class."

This weeks feature event, the $100,000 National Grand Prix will take place tomorrow night at 7pm under the lights!
