ROCKWOOD, ON – After Thursday evening's $33,000 Delta Open Welcome, it became evident that Ian Millar has certainly hit a winning stride, with an incredible third victory of the season at Angelstone.
Millar's win at Angelstone was the third in a row since May, aboard 'Dixson', owned by Susan and Ariel Grange, against a strong field of 33 horses, resulting in a jump off that included a field of 13 competitors.
The international field was led off by Russian equestrian, Liubov Kochetova, aboard 'Aslan'. Kochetova posted an extremely fast time of 34.81 as the first competitor of the jump off, but the time was soon bested by Millar and 'Dixon' by 1.09 seconds, enough to carry the winning duo to victory as the sun set at the Angelstone Stadium.
Rounding out the top three for the Delta Open Welcome was Roberta Teran and 'Woklahoma' with a time of 36.17.
On Saturday evening, Millar and 'Dixson' will be aiming for a clean sweep, when they go for their fourth straight win at the $75,000 ESI Grand Prix at Angelstone.
