Canada qualified the sports of Eventing and Jumping for the Olympic Games during the 2010 World Equestrian Games and Dressage during the 2011 Pan American Games. Canada qualified Para-Equestrian for the Paralympic Games at the end of the official qualification period in early 2012.
The next few weeks promise to be very exciting as our athletes move through the selection, nomination and official naming process. We want you, our Canadian media, to follow our athletes on their road to London.
Through the hard work and expertise of our Dressage, Eventing, Jump and Para-Equestrian committees, we have begun the process of selection and nomination of our athletes to the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC). It is only the COC and CPC who can to officially name our athletes to the Olympic and Paralympic teams.
At the time of this email, Equine Canada has identified athletes in the sports of Eventing and Para-Equestrian who have met the criteria of their discipline-specific qualification process.
