Mitsubishi Motors Grassroots Champsionships 2011 – End Of Day One!
After a fantastically sunny day at the 2011 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Grassroots Championships, the results are in for the overnight dressage leaders of the BE90 and BE100 competitions.
Leading the BE90 is Frances Davies, a mother of two who also works full time in a small London Corporate Finance company, riding Dark Pretender, known at home as 'Wilf'.
Leading the BE100 since early this afternoon is British Showjumping Sport-team member, Beccy Philips on Vamiro. The ages and occupations of today’s competitors include Cumbrian farmer’s wife Sally Robinson, long distance lorry-driver Susan Chappelhow (who is second in the BE100 overnight), plus fifteen year old school girl Maddie Taylor. Pictured is Kevin Maple, a project manager from Sussex, who only started riding ten years ago at the age of 40!
The 2011 course has been reversed from the 2010 course which replicates how Hugh Thomas plans the CCI4* International competition.
