Belinda and Anton Shine on First Stop of European Spring Show Tour
Canadian Olympian Belinda Trussell and her stunning Saxony-bred gelding, Anton, had a fantastic start to their spring show tour in Europe, placing second in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special at Stadl Paura, Austria, CDI 3* April 21-25.
After an impressive score of 69.23% in the Grand Prix, Belinda and Anton, surpassed themselves with 71.167% in the Special.
“What excites me about this horse, is he is capable of 8's and higher in almost all of the movements,” noted a delighted Belinda. “We received 8's this past weekend in movements we have never had before. His absolute highlight is his piaffe, which he loves to perform.”
Belinda and Anton will remain in Europe over the next few months, with plans to compete at Hagen, May 4-8, Lingen May 20-22 and Fritzens June 24-26.
“Anton feels very relaxed and strong,“ Belinda commented. “We stayed home in Canada this winter to train which I feel has helped us jump up to the next level in international competition. He is a top horse and I am very excited about our future together.”
