Spend Summer in the Rockies at
Colorado Horse Park's Expanded AA Series
Parker, CO - There is only one competitive, summer "AA"-rated hunter/jumper horse show series that offers the beauty of the Colorado Horse Park and the country's best summer activities and within only an hour's drive of downtown Denver and the Denver Airport. It's like being in heaven with your horses for six weeks of the summer.
"Typically, Colorado in the summer is glorious," said Kyle Fenner, Director of Business Development at the Colorado Horse Park. "Many barns plan on Summer in the Rockies year after year because Colorado is just so stunning; there is no other place like it. It just makes showing that much more enjoyable. Plus, there is so much to do on the off days. You can white-water raft, golf, climb a 14er (a mountain that exceeds 14,000 feet), explore history, enjoy a leisurely trail ride or enjoy everything the greater Denver region has to offer."
As an added perk to Summer in the Rockies, The Club at Pradera, a private country club with golf and restaurant facilities located across the street from Colorado Horse Park, has extended a "member for the month" program for show exhibitors' use of their spectacular facilities. For the first time ever, play golf at The Club at Pradera as a guest of the Colorado Horse Park throughout the summer series. Contact the show office for more details.
The six-week series features a full array of hunter/jumper events for horses and riders. Plan on serious competition and great prizes.
Highlights of the competitions include:
$15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby
$5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby
$15,000 Welcome Stake
$20,000 High Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic Show Jumping Hall of Fame Class Presented by Pony Lane Farm
$30,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix
$40,000 Holiday Inn of Parker Grand Prix and the
$50,000 Parker Adventist Summer Classic Grand Prix
"We want everyone to come and enjoy the new GGT Footing and all the improvements this year," said show manager Pat Boyle from Showplace Productions. "In addition to new GGT footing, the Colorado Horse Park has added new jumps, built new lunging pads, a 16,000 square foot party pavilion, updated the sound system and put in brand new turn-out paddocks."
The Colorado Horse Park, Boyle and the team plan to roll out the red carpet with parties, music and fun for all competitors, owners, family and friends. Add to that an impressive lineup of judges and course designers and you're certain to enjoy the best the industry has to offer.
