Janet Foy is an FEI 4* judge, USEF “S” Dressage Judge and a USEF Sporthorse “R” Breed Judge. She has judged at major shows in the US including the FEI North American Young Rider Championships, the FEI North American Junior Championships, The USA World Cup League Finals, Dressage at Devon, USET Festival of Champions and FEI shows across the country. Her international judging has included FEI World Cup League Finals and CDI*** in South America, Europe, Canada and Australia. Janet is a member of the USDF Executive Board and the USEF Board of Directors, a member of the USEF Dressage Committee and the International High Performance Dressage Committee. She is also on the USDF“L” Faculty and instructs judges training programs throughout the US for dressage and sporthorse breeding.

 

Carter Bass has been involved with horses since childhood, competing in Hunters, Eventing and Dressage. She has been a dressage instructor for 35 years, and has coached several horse/rider combinations that have received Horse of the Year awards, regional championships and competed at Grand Prix. Bass has been a licensed official with the USEF since 1989, receiving “R” Dressage and “R” Dressage Sporthorse Breeding licenses. She was accepted into the USEF Senior Judges training program in 2012. She is a Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist.

 

Originally from Hawaii, Gwen settled in Colorado after graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences. She is currently working on improving and moving up the Judging scale with the US Equestrian Federation. At this time she is a USEF "r" Dressage and Dressage Sport Horse Judge and has earned her US Dressage Federation Gold, Silver and Bronze rider medals.

 

Gwen is instructor, trainer and barn owner of Kaimana Farms and Kaimana Equestrian, LLC, in Elizabeth, Colorado. Gwen enjoys the journey from training through Grand Prix. Safarie, for instance, was purchased as a 3 year old, earned the Region V Colt Championship in 2002, and in 2012 competed at Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle. She is currently training a homebred mare who was the Region V Filly Champion as a Yearling and Two Year Old.

 

A native German, Carolin Walz has ridden from childhood on and became fascinated in her teens with the breeding of horses. Successful through FEI on self-made mounts, she earned her USDF Silver Medal in the US.  Her most notable riding and training influence is Dr. Reiner Klimke, with whom she had the good fortune to train during her university studies in Münster. 

 

Living and working in the 1980s at a breeding facility in Münster that produced top-notch warmbloods and sport ponies, Carolin immersed herself in all things breeding, attending and exhibiting at stallion and mare inspections and the Bundeschampionat. She started collecting stallion and mare books in addition to the FN Jahrbücher Zucht from 1976 onward and continues to educate herself on bloodlines and breeding to this day. 

 

In the US, she started DreamTime Farm with her best friend, breeding top sport horses successful through Grand Prix Dressage, culminating in HOY honors for the 3-year-old home-bred stallion Roi Soleil D. Another home-bred, Raison de Joie, earned Colt Champion honors at Devon. While working at her “day job” as Lecturer in the English Department at Eastern Kentucky University, she continues to breed modern sport horses for all disciplines and enjoys judging DSHB shows, where she is always impressed by the ever-increasing quality of American-bred stock.

Gary Rockwell is an International FEI 5* Dressage Judge and USDF L Faculty Member. As a member of the United States Equestrian Team, Gary Rockwell represented the U.S. in competition throughout Europe. He and his Danish mare “Suna” won a Team Silver medal at CHIO Rotterdam in 1993 and a Team Bronze at the 1994 World Championships at The Hague, Netherlands. As a USEF judge for more than 25 years, he officiated at many regional finals and national championships. As a FEI judge, he officiated at North American Young Rider Championships, FEI Challenge Tours, European Championships, four World Cup Finals, the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

 

Isabelle Judet is famous worldwide as a judge and trainer. She is a 5 star judge, called Official Judge in the past, with only a handful of other judges. Nominated in 1989 by the FEI to this prestigious title, she was able to judge the European Championship, World Cup Finals, CHIO Aachen and CDI 5*. The French Equestrian Federation (FFE) also recognized her talents and chose her to be French Chef d'Equipe from 1991 to 1994 including 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. From 1999 to 2002, she became National Trainer. As a judge and a trainer, she is invited all around the world for competitions or clinics.

 

Gabriel Armando is an FEI “I” judge (4*FEI judge) who has been involved in the equestrian sport since he was 8 years old. As a young rider, he competed in dressage and jumping. In 1982 and 1983, he was Dressage National Champion in his native country, Argentina. In 1998, he won the Silver Medal in the South American Championship, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has been a member of the Argentinean team in the 2003 Pan American Games in Dominican Republic and in the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio, Brazil. He has trained in Germany where he goes periodically since 1986.

 

He has judged in 20 countries in International competitions including the NAJYRC (2006-2010-2011-2012), World Dressage Challenge (Region 9 and 2), Panam Games 2011 and many World Cup Qualifiers. As a trainer, he is an active clinician and he daily supervises the development of 25 riders/horses. Gabriel has students from various countries. He has also been the National Trainer and Technical advisor of the Puerto Rican Dressage Team as well as trainer of his native country dressage team.

Christoph Hess went into military service at the “Bundeswehr” sports school at Warendorf after graduating from high school. From there he went on to study diploma pedagogics, focusing on adult education, in Hannover, Göttingen and Oldenburg. Christoph has been in the training department of the German Equestrian Federation since 1978. He is currently the head of the Instruction Department and the head of the Personal Members Department. He was a member of the FEI Eventing Committee from 2003 to 2007. Christoph is an FEI 4* Judge for Dressage and Eventing and is actively involved internationally in the education of judges and trainers. He has judged and provided commentary for the FEI Young Horse Championships, Stallion shows and the WEG in Aachen. He is a director of judges’ and instructors’ courses in Germany and abroad, as well as an examiner of judges and trainers at the highest level in Germany.

 

Natalie Lamping is a USEF “I”, FEI “I”, FEI “C”, Para Equestrian, and FEI young horse judge. Natalie has judged most of the major Olympic, World Cup, and Pan American Games selection trials for the USET Dressage Team, and has been a long time figure at such important competitions as The NAYRC, Palm Beach Dressage Derby, and Dressage at Devon. She has judged in Brazil, England, Denmark, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Guatemala, and Mexico. She has had the honor to judge in Wiesbaden, s'Hertogenbosch, and Samur, as well as the European Junior and Young Rider's Championships. An FEI "I" judge for the past 22 years, and recently became an FEI Young Horse judge, Lamping is also a USEF Senior judge, examiner and on the USEF Licensed Officials committee. She is based in Ocala, FL

 

Lorraine is a Canadian FEI 4*International Dressage Judge. She is a former FEI competitor. As a private banker with TD Canada Trust, Lorraine continues to ride and train in Caledon, Ontario. She is a former member of the Youth High Performance Committee and former Chair and current member of the Officials Committee. Through the FEI Challenge Tours, Lorraine has judged and cliniced through South America, Asia, India and Africa. She has been involved in Team Boot Camps in preparation for the Pan Ams and with our Olympic Team in London in July 2012. Highlights for 2014 include Young Riders Championship, Devon Horse Show, The Royal Winter Fair and the South American and Caribbean Championships and many CDI’s in North America. She has a top down approach to judging and is always looking to award the elusive “10”

 

Jeanne McDonald is an FEI “I” and USEF “S” dressage judge, a USDF/USEF Dressage Sport Horse Judge and a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold medalist. She is also an active competitor, having competed in dressage for over 24 years and trained all three of her horses to Grand Prix. In 2004 with Tantris, her approved Oldenburg stallion, they were the GAIG/USDF Reserve Champions at Intermediaire II and Grand Prix.

 

Kjell Myhre lives in Oslo Norway. He has a BA Hons. Degree in Business Studies from University of Stirling, Scotland, UK. He started his career working for the City Council of Oslo, Department of Education. In 1998, he was offered a position as consultant for training and education at the Norwegian Equestrian Federation, and from 2000 to 2010 he had the position as Secretary General at the Federation. In 2011, he stepped down as Secretary General, and left the federation. After three years working for a small NGO called Hest og Helse (Horses and Health), Kjell Is now back in the equestrian federation working as development consultant, mainly dealing with the riding clubs and their ability to contribute to the main objectives of the federation - Equestrian sport for everyone.

 

Kjell started riding at the age of 12 and has competed nationally up to Intermediate I. He has been a dressage judge since 1990, and became a 4 * FEI judge in 2007. In addition to being a FEI dressage judge, Kjell is a 5* FEI Para-dressage judge, and has judged the last 4 Paralympics. Some of his highlights as a 4* FEI judge have been to judge two World Cup qualifiers, as well as the US Championships for junior and young riders in 2011, and the European Championships for junior and young riders  in 2013.

 

A native of Columbia, Cesar Torrente is an international dressage judge and an FEI level dressage competitor. He is the first judge to be promoted through the 2013 FEI 3 * program. Cesar has had the honor of standing on medal podium to receive the team gold medal two times in the South American Games and the Central American Games. He is a corporate lawyer by profession. He travels the globe to judge worldwide, while maintaining the precarious balance between his career and his passion for horses with apparent ease. He is known in the dressage world as a “rider’s judge”, because he knows what it is like to be in the judges box, as well as the sandbox we call the dressage ring. Cesar started riding at the age of 12 and rode his first grand prix before he turned 20. Since then he has ridden and trained horses up to Grand Prix level and has been the Colombian National Champion at all levels over several years.
