Canada Wins Team Bronze and Individual Gold at the
Wellington Nations Cup CDI-O3* in Florida

Ottawa, ON --- Canadian team members David Marcus of Campbellville, ON, Evi Strasser of Ste Adele, QC, Chistilot Boylen originally from Toronto, ON, now living in Rottingen, GER and Brittany Fraser of New Glasgow, NS, brought home the bronze medal from the team competition at the Wellington Nations Cup CDI-O3* presented by Stillpoint Farm, April 11 - 14 in Wellington, FL.

A full field of ten international teams competed for national glory in the CDI-O3* with Canada Team II, comprised of Lindsay Kellock, Cedar Valley, ON, Maya Markowski of St Clements, ON and Lee Tubman of Dunnville, ON finishing in sixth place.

"It was a great week at the Wellington Nations Cup CDIO held at the Palm Beach Equestrian Center. All the riders contributed to the bronze medal by producing the scores that they have been obtaining all season at this wonderful venue. They were all focused on the task at hand and even though the weather was hot and humid, they were all well prepared and ready for the team competition, and they all supported each other as a team. The coaches, grooms, owners and supporters were a great help to them, everything ran very smoothly. We had young new team riders and experienced team riders so quite a broad range of competitors making up our two Canadian teams. I was proud to watch everyone compete so well and achieve the recognition they deserve. It was fantastic to have Christilot win the Individual gold, wonderful to hear Oh Canada at the medal presentations!!" commented Team Chef d'Equipe Gina Smith.

Christilot Boylen, who celebrated her 66 birthday the weekend of the CDI-O3*, earned the Individual Gold medal with Dio Mio, a 10-year-old black Hanoverian gelding sired by De Niro and owned by Jill Irving and Windhaven Farm. Boylen's scores of 70.395% in the Prix St. Georges, 73.789% in the Intermediaire I and 75.500% in the Intermediaire 1 Freestyle, under the lights, gave her a comfortable advantage over her competition for the medal.

Additional highlights from Wellington included performances from David Marcus of Cambellville, ON, guiding Don Kontes, a 13-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding, sired by Don Schufro owned by Deborah Miculinic, to a fifth place finish with a score of 69.275% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. Brittany Fraser, with All In, a 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding sired by Tango and owned by Brittany, to a 8th place finish in the Intermediaire 1 Freestyle with a score of 68.200% and Lee Tubman with De La Rosa, a 12-year-old Hanoverian mare sired by De Niro owned by Ducat Developments Ltd., to an eighth place finish in the Prix St. Georges with a score of 67.632%.
