Tom Dvorak Named Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of 
the Month for March

Tom Dvorak of Hillsburgh, ON, has been named the Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month for March.

Dvorak, a team silver medalist from the 2007 Pan American Games, had excellent results at Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge II CDI 1*/3* in Wellington, FL, March 10–13, 2011. In the Prix St. Georges class of 52 entries, Dvorak and Key West (Charly Chaplin x Arogno), Claudia Demandt’s 11-year-old Trakehner gelding, won the class a score 69.342%. Riding Viva’s Salieri W, Augustin and Christine Walch’s 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding sired by Viva Voltaire, Dvorak placed third, scoring 68.596%. He also rode Corrigan, Karen Thompson-Harry’s 11-year-old Westphalian gelding sired by Cordobes I to ninth place with 67.149%.

Out of 50 starting entries in the Intermediaire I, Dvorak once again had all three horses in the top ten. He was second with Viva’s Salieri W, earning 69.561%; third with Key West (69.167%), and ninth with Corrigan with 67.149%.

To cap off the weekend, Dvorak rode Corrigan to victory in the Intermediaire I Freestyle with 71.458%.

“I was really pleased with all three of my horses,” said Dvorak. “I feel really confident with all my horses following our Florida tour. It was a really great experience.”
