Special Invitation by the Chair Dressage Canada Fundraising to
Participate in the "Champions' Club"
Ottawa, ON---Dressage Canada is pleased to announce a very special opportunity to show your patronage by participating in a new funding program in support of our athletes and the sport of dressage.
Letter of Invitation
I am so delighted to have this opportunity to ask you to join me along with other dressage enthusiasts to become a Charter Member of the Champions' Club.
The primary purpose of the Champions' Club is to support the new head of Equine Canada and his team as they implement plans and programs designed to revitalize the sport of Dressage in Canada and help the Canadian riders achieve podium success.
I am requesting a donation of $2,000.00 with an additional $500.00 each year thereafter from all Charter Champion members. All donations will be fully receipted by Equine Canada.
This initiative has been created so that we can prepare our high performance riders to qualify a Canadian team for the World Equestrian Games in Normandy late summer of 2014.
The funds will be utilized so that both our high performance and our potential high-performance youth rides can enjoy the competition available in North America and attend the Florida Winter Training Camp scheduled for early 2014, which will be staffed with a world-renowned team of experts.
Our budget for this year (2013-2014) is $435,000.00 which will fund the new Technical Adviser/Chef position as well as the Florida Training Camp (Canada Fortnight) which we realize is necessary if our athletes are to beat all competitors. Currently, we are short $240,000.00 on this budget projection.
In recognition for your assistance with the athletes' development Charter members will enjoy the following benefits:
* front of the line tickets to World Equestrian Games, Pan American Games, Olympic Games - Ticket purchase required;
* VIP seating at all Dressage Canada fundraising events - purchase of tickets required;
* tax receipt from Equine Canada;
* recognition on the web site as a Charter Member of the Champions' Club;
* monthly profile of members of the Champions' Club;
* golf cart service where available at shows;
* special lapel pin identifying Champions' Club members.
It is our hope that this initiative will accelerate the dynamic energies of both the athlete and Dressage Canada, and create a united whole which will provide urgent and sustainable funding for this elegant sport. It is worth supporting, and timely because Canada is losing its position as one of the leading dressage nations in the world, and because the new EC leadership is fully committed to changing our current course.
I thank you in advance for your kindness and the recognition that private donor support is a greater need now than ever due to the significantly reduced Government and OTP funding. Together we will make a difference.
Yours truly,
J. Michael Horgan
