Horses Needed for FEI Caribbean Challenge
at ESP Spring 2 Horse Show

Wellington, FL - Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP) is looking for horses to participate in the FEI Caribbean Challenge on April 10-11, 2013, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) during the ESP Spring 2 Horse Show.

The FEI Caribbean Challenge will include top junior riders from Group IV, the FEI designation for the geographical area of the United States, Canada, and Caribbean island nations. Similar to the friendship event held in Germany, the class is for riders aged 14-18. Each U.S. and Canadian rider brings two horses to the event, which are put into a draw where they ride one horse and a foreign (Caribbean) rider draws the other.

ESP is looking for donated horses for this event. Horses need to be able to jump 1.10m. Riders coming from the Caribbean all compete at 1.20m or higher levels. This is a great opportunity for equestrian supporters to help up-and-coming riders and give back to the sport for those who do not have the same opportunity in their home region.

The event will be held at the 1.10m level and is meant to be fun, friendly, and encourage international sport with young riders. Twenty-two riders will be invited to the event, with 12 coming from the United States and Canada.

Included in the hosting committee and helping arrange social events for the participating riders are USEF President Chrystine Tauber and FEI Group IV Chairman Mark Samuels. Riders are invited to a Welcome Reception, an evening barbeque, a clinic, to view the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) Nations Cup competition, and a farewell reception.

"We encourage American and Canadian riders to join this event," said ESP President Michael Stone. "It's a great opportunity to ride in a championship-style class, meet international riders, and gain new experiences. We thank the USEF and Equine Canada for their help in organizing the event, and we look forward to welcoming Caribbean riders to the PBIEC."
