Pratt and Cruise, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Indigo Farms LLC, won the $31,000 Husky Energy Cup on June 16 at the Spruce Meadows “Continental” tournament in Calgary, AB. In a 10-horse jump-off, Pratt guided Cruise to a clear round in a time of 50.21 seconds to claim victory over Beezie Madden of the United States, who stopped the clock in 50.90 seconds aboard Coral Reef Via Volo.

The Spruce Meadows win comes hot on the heels of Pratt’s victory in the $100,000 Grand Prix of Del Mar at the Del Mar National Horse Show in California on May 8. Pratt and Cruise also placed sixth the following week in the $100,000 Grand Prix of California, also held in Del Mar.

“Cruise has just been fantastic,” said Pratt, 42, who is originally from Belfountain, ON, and is currently based in Valencia, California. “He was a horse that we bought for a junior and he was not suitable, so he was purchased for me to ride. I think he can be developed to compete at the highest level of the sport.”

Pratt continued, “I use Cavalor products in our barn and they are fantastic. It is great that Cavalor gives back to our sport.”

As the CAVALOR 'Athlete of the Month' for June, Pratt receives a gift certificate from title sponsor CAVALOR Inc.

In Canada, Cavalor products are available through Equus Integral (Francis Berger 514 924-4035 and Michel Lavictoire 514 467-8075). Equus Integral is Cavalor Inc.’s exclusive Canadian distributor and can be reached at info@equusintegral.com.
