Equine Therapy Center in Hawai'i Plagued by Thieves
Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawai'i has been devastated by thieves frequently in the past few months. Not only have small items been taken, such as a weedwacker and a camera, but three times the culprit has made off with the facility's Kubota RTV.
The RTV is used for a wide range of chores around the farm and is an essential piece of equipment for the organization.
The first two times it was taken, the vehicle was found abandoned, but still functional. This time, the organization is just desperate to get the RTV back.
THH is a PATH Premier Accredited therapeutic riding program and its ten horses serve around 100 people per week including special needs children and recovering soldiers.
KHON2.com quoted director Dana Vennen who said:
"Maybe someone will just bring it back realizing what we do for kids and how important that piece of machinery is to us."
"You work so hard for things and people just come and take 'em and it's just infuriating and it's gut wrenching."
