Cirque Vertigo to Perform Daredevil Acts at EQUUS Foundation Fete Cheval Etoile

WESTPORT, CT - On March 8, 2013, Cirque Vertigo will be the featured entertainment at the Fete Cheval Etoile to benefit the EQUUS Foundation, and will perform daredevil acts up close and personal for the 300 guests expected to attend. This troupe brings together two legendary circus families, the Wallendas and the Arestovs.

Rietta Wallenda, a 6th generation circus performer, toured all over the world with her grandfather, the late Karl Wallenda, founder of The Flying Wallendas, an internationally known daredevil circus act remembered for performing death-defying stunts, often without a safety net.

Rietta and her daughter, Lyric Wallenda Arestov, have mastered many different aerial feats such as the Spanish web, aerial lyra, trapeze, sway pole and high wire. Rietta was the top person in the eight person pyramid on the high wire for the 2003 Guinness Book of World Records. The Wallenda Duo will perform the Aerial Perch at the Fete Cheval Etoile.

Simon and Ivan Arestov, originally from Moscow, Russia, are second generation circus performers. At the age of 13, Simon made his first solo debut performing, the "Rolla-Bolla" - an act he will perform at the March 8 Fete Cheval Etoile.

Ivan performs "Hand to Hand" balancing, and will dazzle the Fete Cheval Etoile guests with his mastery of the "Ultimate Wheels", better known as the unicycle without a seat.
The Fete Cheval Etoile, which will be held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida, will celebrate the launch of the Horse Stars Hall of Fame, a joint effort of the EQUUS Foundation and the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) to honor the contributions of amazing horses that have excelled in sport and in careers serving the public by sharing the stories of their athletic and humanitarian feats.

Cirque Vertigo performers will entice guests into the Gallery as they arrive where they will be the first to view the photo gallery of the 62 extraordinary horses being inducted into the Hall of Fame during this inaugural year and enjoy cocktails and a silent auction. Guest will enjoy dinner in the Wellington Club and be treated to a tribute performance by Equestrian Idol Ki-Juan Minors, the Cirque Vertigo show, and dancing to the sounds of UKI Productions.
