Marcus Ehning announced on his website that his Olympic team gold medal winning mount has passed away.

With deep regret we have to announce that on February 18th around 9 am the 25 year old For Pleasure died at home in the field. He was in the best of health and for years he enjoyed going outside with his pony friend Max. We are grateful to have had such an exceptional stallion in our barn for such a long time and will never forget him.

For Pleasure was a Hanoverian stallion by Furioso II out of a Grannus mare. He had a very long and very successful show jumping career.

He competed at the international level with Lars Nieburg from 1994 to 1999. During that period they won a team gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics.

Marcus Ehning rode him from 1999 to his retirement. This pair also won team gold at the Sydney Olympics.

Under both riders, For Pleasure was successful in European and German Championships and also in World Cup competition.

He sired numerous offspring, including 16 approved stallions.
