Glam and Glitter Will Light Up the Night at the Jeans and Jewels Kick-Off Party for
4th Annual GPL Tournament April 12th

Wellington, FL -  The Fourth Annual Gay Polo League Tournament will kick off in style for the year 2013. Dressed in jeans and jewels, supporters will party the night away during the Wellington Rotary Club "Jeans and Jewels" Kick-Off Party at the International Polo Club Pavilion on Friday, April 12, 2013. From 6:30-10 pm, guests will have the opportunity to meet with the team members from this year's Gay Polo League (GPL), as well as honor some of the most prevalent Olympians in the LGBT community.
 

Amidst the decorative blue and white colors of the Grand Pavilion at the International Polo Club (IPC), DJ Adam West will spin the best beats for the night while guests enjoy first-class menu items from Aaron's Catering of the Palm Beaches. The event will feature three hours of an open bar, a Chinese auction, live auction and gourmet buffet dinner. Tickets are only $75, and the party will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.

This is the third year that the Wellington Rotary Club has generously sponsored the GPL party, although in the past it has been all about the victory with a fabulous after party to celebrate the GPL event. The Wellington Rotary Club is thrilled to provide the players, sponsors and supporters with a way to welcome in the Fourth Annual Gay Polo League Tournament.

Six-time Olympian Robert Dover will head the Gay Olympian Committee, with Mason Phelps, Jr. acting as the Vice Chair. Compiling a list of some of the most renowned Gay Olympians of our time, the committee will honor and award the admired Olympians both during the "Jeans and Jewels" event, as well as the polo match taking place the following day at Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Fl.

The Gay Polo League stemmed from a community that shares a love for adventure, fun and the striking, challenging sport of polo. GPL provides a commitment to providing their members across the globe with an enjoyable, encouraging and competitive experience.

The players for GPL represent a wide array of ages, background and experience levels - in fact, some of the players had never ridden a horse prior to joining the league. The players actively train and compete in mainstream matches and events throughout the year to test their skills, as well as share their enthusiasm for the challenging sport and change perceptions about the Lesbian Bisexual Gay and Transgender (LBGT) community. GPL provides a secure environment for active people to enjoy the exhilaration of competition and the camaraderie that is a parallel of team sports.

Over 4,000 spectators gather every year for this long-awaited event, and this year the Gay Polo League promises to once again not disappoint the crowds as they return to the Grand Champions Polo Club for their fourth annual international tournament April 13, 2013.
