Wellington, FL- Mason Phelps, an Olympic athlete in Three-Day Eventing from the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games, will join Jennifer Benoit, a United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist, in a disco-themed dressage pas de deux at the Fourth Annual International Gay Polo Tournament, Saturday, April 13.

The pair will ride a freestyle set to music between the semi-final and final polo matches during the event to be held at the Grand Champions Polo Club at the corner of South Shore Boulevard and Lake Worth Road in Wellington, FL. The Gay Polo League (GPL), created in 2006, is an international organization and only known gay polo league in the world. Currently, the GPL's established four U.S. chapters are in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Wellington. GPL members include players from several foreign countries including France, England, Argentina, South Africa, Canada and Australia.

A talented team of professionals developed Phelps and Benoit's freestyle routine including dressage superstars Debbie McDonald and Carl Hester, who created the pattern, and Terri Ciotti Gallo, who masterminded the musical arrangement.

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be," Phelps said. "Jennifer has been instrumental in helping me prepare for this event. She is great at utilizing strategy to get the results I wanted."

Benoit specializes in using correct training while being fair and honest to help riders set and achieve their goals. She and her husband, Chris, own Seahorse Stables, LLC, of Wellington and offer performance horse sales, boarding, training, clinics, instruction and certified appraisals in a tranquil setting ideally located near all the competition venues. She specializes in the training, development, conditioning, fitness and performance of dressage athletes and believes riding should be comfortable and enjoyable for both horse and rider.

She loves helping riders reach their competitive goals, but she also enjoys helping

riders who want to have fun on their horses.

"I'm excited to share our sport with polo folks," Benoit said. "Besides, riding with Mason the most fun I've had in the sport of dressage. And in the end, it's supposed to be fun."
