Valiant: Life Is a Horse Documentary Trailer to
Premier at Gay Polo League Reception at Polo Gear
Thursday, April 11, 2013

Wellington, FL -  Members and guests of the Gay Polo League Reception at Polo Gear will be in for something quite unexpected. During the annual GPL private reception, the newly released documentary movie trailer Valiant: Life Is a Horse will be premiered in the handsome flagship Polo Gear store on Fairlane Farm Road in Wellington, Florida.

Valiant: Life Is a Horse is the true story of Polo Gear co-founder Jeanette Sassoon's 26-year-old blind dressage horse. Valiant became blind after an adverse reaction to medication for a puncture wound in his foot led to uveitis.

Sassoon refused to let the diagnosis deter her efforts to teach Valiant and build a trust with her enough to excel in the sport of dressage. Through the power of this relationship, Valiant not only learned to live again blind, but he became a competitive dressage horse. Last year, Valiant competed in the Prix St. Georges; he scored in the mid-high 60's and placed in the ribbons in a large competitive field here in Wellington, the horse capital of the world.
Valiant: Life Is a Horse is an undertaking of love to the legacy of Valiant. As life lessons unfolded, Jeanette and Valiant traveled from the highest levels of dressage to the wide open spaces of Wyoming, touching the hearts and lives of many great horsemen such as John Lyons and Michael Poulin, as well as hundreds of other supporters.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to support such an event. Jeanette and Gary have been so supportive of GPL we are honored to help support the wonderful Valiant endeavor," commented Chip McKinney, founder and board member of the Gay Polo League.

While Valiant: Life is a Horse, depicts the story of Valiant the core of the film is a powerful message of the incredible benefits and meaning that derive from truly caring for and bonding with your animals. The documentary is the ongoing saga of how Valiant's story continues to touch many lives, recounting interviews from individuals who have been affected by Valiant and Jeanette.

Valiant's story of inspiration has encouraged a new paradigm in the equestrian world. It involves getting to know, care for and connect to our horses on a deeper more personal level, as friends and as partners. The filmValiant: Life is a Horse is the launch of a campaign to raise awareness for this new paradigm of horsemanship. This campaign has rallied the support of equine corporations, such as Adequan, Polo Gear, Verhan Saddlery, etc. whose company philosophies support the "we care about horses" message found in the documentary.

Valiant will perform and the Documentary Trailer will premiere at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival Nations Cup in Wellington on Saturday, April 13th, 2013.
