The sixth gelding clinic in a planned twelve clinic program will take place Saturday, 21 May at Bobby Jones Arena in Cottonwood, California.

The National Equine Resource Network (NERN), in partnership with Red Bluff Veterinary Clinic and Safe Haven Horse Rescue will be putting on the reduced-cost gelding clinic. The goal is to provide owners with a cost effective way to geld their stallions in order to reduce the number of unwanted horses.

Gelding can cost anywhere between $150 and $300 in the United States, but the low-cost gelding clinics that NERN puts on charge just $75. This is an essential part of the event, as gelding and general equine healthcare tend to be driven by the economy, Safe Haven founder Linda Richards notes.
