Heather Blitz Announces Revised Summer Plans
Focus on New Training Center and Clinic Schedule
Medfield, Massachusetts, USA. Heather Blitz has announced today a revised program for this summer at her new training center in Medfield, Massachusetts. The 44 year old Pan American gold and silver medalist and Olympic Games reserve has decided to stay in the U.S. to focus on her new business and clinic schedule instead of traveling to Europe. Blitz had been awarded a USEF European Training Grant and was considering taking her 10 year old Don Shufro gelding Paragon to train in Europe but after relocating to New England this past week and having spent last summer in England has reconsidered another overseas trip.
"I'm really excited about my new training center here at Cutler Farm and have lots of new clients that are eager to get started with their training, which is very important to me. I also have a clinic schedule filling up for the rest of the year in the U.S."
Since this is a non championship year Blitz feels it would be better for Paragon to stay home and prepare for their World Equestrian Games campaign next year.
"Next year is going to be a busy one for Paragon and he's still a young horse so I'd rather give him a year without any major traveling and be better prepared for our bid to make the team for Normandy," added Blitz.
It would have meant being away from my business again for an extended period and I also have young horses that need my attention including Oak Hill Ranch's five year old stallion Ripline. Rip has so much potential and I want to give him every opportunity with his show schedule too so this is another priority for me."
