HITS News Weekly Takes the Desert by Storm
THERMAL, CA ― HITS, Inc. is a company that is making headlines. Literally! The nation’s premiere producer of hunter/jumper horse shows has teamed up with leading media outlet The Equestrian News to introduce a new publication, HITS News Weekly.
Premiering Jan. 22 with HITS News Weekly – Thermal Edition, this new publication will document the non-stop action of the 2013 HITS Desert Circuit, covering the competition in print and online at www.HitsNewsWeekly.com in an industry first.
“We have always considered our exhibitors newsworthy, and now we’re proving it by creating a news vehicle focused on them,” said HITS Inc. president and CEO Tom Struzzieri. “And for advertisers, this is an opportunity to get their message in front of one of the most demographically desirable audiences in the world.”
From short stirrup to grand prix, HITS News Weekly will capture all the action, with ringside reporting and stunning images from Flying Horse Photography. Whether it’s along the berms or back at the barns, in the serene VIP enclave that is the Oasis Club or on the bustling byways of vendor village, HITS News Weekly will cover it all.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity to partner with the top brand in the world of horse shows. We’re going to tell some amazing stories, and have a lot of fun, too,” said The Equestrian News editor in chief Paula Parisi, previously VP and executive editor at The Hollywood Reporter. “When I left the red carpets of Hollywood for the grand prix fields, Tom Struzzieri was an industry leader who caught my attention. In a world where wearing a patterned jacket is considered a radical departure, he wasn’t afraid to shake things up. He is a true iconoclast and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to work together.”
HITS will publish seven editions of HITS News Weekly – Thermal Edition, available each Wednesday morning during Desert Circuit I through VII.
A minimum of 2,000 copies of each issue will be distributed on the showgrounds at the HITS Desert Horse Park and to hotels, restaurants, tack and feed stores, and newsstands throughout the Coachella Valley.
“With some of the best riders in the world converging at HITS to compete in our new AIG Thermal $1 Million Grand Prix, we’ll definitely be making news on the winter circuit,” Struzzieri said. “Between that and our $50,000 East Meets West Hunter Challenge, we’ll be seeing some of the greats in action and some new careers being launched.”
Editorial inquiries for HITS News Weekly should be directed to Parisi, who will supervise the new publishing venture and also serve as the on-site media coordinator for HITS in Thermal.
